I got my kitty from the Cozy Kitten Cattery, and feel compelled to share with all the experience I had with them as well as research and sites for those considering getting a cat from Cozy Kittens. A novice of catteries, breeders etc, (only pets from pound prior) I thought Cozy Kittens seemed legit from their website and all the "high-marks" they give themselves.
They shipped wrong cat, refused to talk to us about it - would hang up on I called. Kitty's certificate/papers were not included as I was told they would be. They also didn't send him in the upgraded "luxury" pet taxi/carrier that I paid for. Regardless, kitty was a keeper - I would never "return" him, especially to people like that.
I did get one response from Cozy Kittens two days after emailing and calling them, saying (via email) that I would receive Kitty's papers upon showing proof he was neutered ASAP. Kitty was neutered shortly after receiving him, and I sent Cozy Kittens the proof and hoping they would hold up to agreement and send papers. I never heard from them again - no papers for my $3,000 purchase from their "reputable" "professional" cattery. I think they they do produce some "quality" cats for their image, branding, publicity, but mill them out and sell ones not so.
I made repeated attempts to get Kitty's certificate/papers from Sue, but every time I called, I kept getting hung up on, even after making it clear that there was "no problem", was not seeking refund or partial refund. I made it clear (in emails as well) that I loved kitty and just wanted his papers.
Within weeks of his arrival, Kitty displayed twitches, a sporadic twitch - muscle/neurological. Spent couple grand getting kitty MRI and testing. The vet specialists said sadly, this is common at catteries/puppy mills due to improper breeding. No wonder I was never given Kitty's papers, not only was I shipped the wrong cat, but also imbreeds as well as improper healthcare.
If you are considering a kitty from Cozy Kittens (or any breeder/cattery for that matter) please do research as I did - after the fact. I found many complaints/lawsuits involving Cozy Kittens Cattery/ Sue & Rob Johnson. For a "loving cattery", they sure involved in alot of drama! will post links below. Investigate and decide yourself :)
